Description of Project

CWTC has been successful for Project Funding from Link4Life from April 2016.

The proposed project meets Link4Life Corporate Strategy of:
a) supporting people to maximise their own skills and potential
b) acting openly and in partnership to achieve shared goals.


To empower and work with young people (NEET) and unemployed adults from the deprived communities in

the borough of Rochdale to improve their work related arts and media skills, increase confidence and

provide information/support needed to enhance their employment prospects with various partners in the

field of creative sector.

Art for Health and Wellbeing Project (Annual based)

Project Funding from NHS – HMR Clinical Commissioning Group Investment Fund


The project’s aim is to work towards developing and implementing creative arts based activities, training opportunities,

employment opportunities and open discussions for young people and adults who are, or maybe at risk of experiencing

mental health difficulties.

The project will achieve to:

  • help empower young people and adults with mental health issues
  • facilitate their active & creative participation in the wider society
  • develop creative initiatives to address common issues
  • improve health and well being
  • participants progress despite their disability
  • improve public health by raising awareness of health promotion messages.


The following activities are available:

  • Awareness Open Days
  • Reminiscence Sessions at CWTC Wellbeing Café
  • Mental Health and Dementia Awareness
  • Arts for Wellbeing Health Involvement and Achievement Day
  • Understanding Dementia Course Level 2
  • Understanding Mental Health & Wellbeing Level 2
  • Basic Awareness of Diabetes Level 2
  • Supporting Carers  Level 2

  • arts and music therapy, poetry and crafts
  • visits to the House of Memories at Museum of Liverpool
  • multilingual dementia awareness sessions

  • People with mental health challenges

  • Older people including over 60s and over 85s


Employment for Freelance Artists/Tutors


CWTC provides opportunities for multicultural freelance artists and tutors in our workshops, accredited courses, exhibitions, festivals, touring and performances.
