The Centre of Wellbeing, Training & Culture (CWTC) is giving students in Oldham real-life work experience in health and community support. This is done in partnership with Oldham College, Action Together, Oldham Sixth Form College, North Lancs Training Group, and self-referrals.
These placements offer hands-on training and support from CWTC staff and visiting services, in health awareness, digital skills, office skills, produce community podcast wellbeing, participate in the wellbeing café, and equipping students with essential skills to pursue careers in media, health and social care.
“We want to give young people and adults the confidence and skills to make a real difference”, said Mohammed Sarwar, CEO from CWTC. ” We value our partnerships and the opportunities they create to develop skills, confidence, and a passion for helping others”.

“Thank you to all the team at Centre of Wellbeing, Training & Culture (CWTC). They offer amazing volunteer roles for people in the local community. We have received positive feedback about people’s experiences. It’s great to hear about the volunteers we have referred, they have developed their skills and progressed further, including gaining paid employment! It’s wonderful to see that volunteering has so many benefits that impacts a person’s life in a variety of ways.” – Alishia – Action Together
“We have been working with Centre of Wellbeing Training and Culture for many years, and they have always been supportive of helping our students to achieve valuable work experience. They have offered placements within digital marketing and business admin sectors and our students have developed transferable skills that have seen them progress on to university, jobs and apprenticeships. They genuinely care about people and it’s evident in the work they do. We have even had students that have continued to stay on with CWTC when their placements have ended. We value the support they provide and hope it may continue for many more years.” – Stacey Harrison – North Lancs Training Group
