Who we are
Centre of Wellbeing, Training & Culture (CWTC), Oldham is a registered charity which has been providing arts and culture over 30 years, regionally, national and internationally for all musicians and arts.
CWTC has been dedicated to promoting the importance of education, training, touring, cultural exchange and promotion.
Conversation and Consultation Objectives
• To gather information on opportunities, learning and performing in Oldham in Qawwali music in Oldham Borough.
• To assess engagement in Qawwali Music in Oldham Borough.
• To finding of the survey to Oldham Council and Arts Council.
The Key Aims for the consultation are:
• To provide every upcoming Asian artist and diverse artists including diverse audiences with first access to Qawwali music experiences
• Provide more opportunities for Asian artists to deepen and broaden their musical interests and skills through professional training
• Identify and nurture the most talented young musicians
• To provide train the trainer master workshops
• To provide learning of Qawwali music and instruments in schools
• To provide recording and marketing facilities at CWTC for artists trained through the project.
We are requesting musicians, practitioners, schools, music organisations, schools, creative and cultural communities for feedback so their experience and knowledge can help to support the Qawwali Music Development Programme in the Borough.
