YOUNG PEOPLE INTO MEDIA INDSUTRY:

Ahsan Tayub CIN Learner:

I’m part of the supporting young people into the media industry project here at the Centre for Wellbeing, Training and Culture in Rochdale supported by Children in Need. I have an interest in drama and arts.

A little bit about CWTC, they are a non profit organisation with over 30 years experience in raising health awareness, providing accredited employability skills, wellbeing café, arts and cultural events for the diverse communities to promote community cohesion.

I am fortunate to be part of supporting Young people into media industry modules which is helping me to gain experience and skills into the industry as well as hands on experience in learning how to set up, use and edit materials typically seen in an actual work environment.

Just over the 3 weeks I have learnt; basic office duties, typical morning routine for when I get in, how to ensure the centre is kept in a professional manor; organise postage and email, learnt short cuts on computer, set up camera for filming, scripting on teleprompter, setting up lights for chroma screen, marketing on social media, organise my file and discuss my ongoing training with Mohammed Sarwar and staff at CWTC.

I feel welcome and safe here and a great place for some learning practical skills which I will hope to take further towards my career in the media sector.
